Community Council Meeting

Mrs. Barney, school principal welcomed and Called to Order
Those in Attendance:
Parents: Erin Eskelson, Jodi Dixon, Becky Simpson, Brea Eskelsen, and Michael Thomas
Educators: Michelle Wright, Shelly Harris, Brittany Ryan, Marie Lyon, Tracie Jackson, Melinda Martin and Kitty Barney (Principal)
Those absent:
Bobbi Beckstead, Jonathan Wright, Joann Meyers, Jason Allen
School Mission Statement and Vision Statement were read.
Nominations and voting for School Community Council Positions (Chair, Co-chair, and Secretary)
Nominations for Chair: Michael Thomas, Brea Eskelson
Nominations for Co-Chair Brittany Ryan
Nominations for Secretary Michelle Wright
Nominations were voted on and agreed upon. The following will serve in these positions.

Reviewed Rules of Order and Procedures… they were agreed upon and adopted.
Dates and times for this coming year’s meetings will be held on Wednesdays at 3:30

Goals: Reading and Technology...reviewed how much is spent for aides and substitutes for Professional Learning
Discussed TSSA plan and money being used for one-to-one devices
$7,900 from TSSA and the same from Trustlands. We have also spent $3,000 for Dreambox
Total spent $ 3,800.00
Balance $52,800.00

Nominations and voting schedule for 2020:
Open seats for parents: 4 seats
Nominations April 6th – April 17th
Voting April 20th – May 1st
Open seats for teachers: This will be determined by how many parents are nominated and voted for. (at least 2 more parents than the number of teachers)

Voting for teacher May 13, 2020 at (Faculty Meeting)
Community Council Trainings: Found on the Schools Trustlands website, was available to watch before the meeting.
We watched the Power Point on the Purpose of Community Council, member responsibilities, and elections protocol together. The Council feels good that we are following all rules and are in compliance.
Our school website at http://roosevelt.wsd.net/ is also in compliance. At the top of the page there is a drop down link titled Community Council.
We were made aware of the following training dates and locations to attend one of the School LAND Trust Trainings.
Other Items: Michael will check to see if he will be able to attend the School LAND Trust Training with Paula Plant to be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. If he can't Becky Simpson will attend.
Adjournment: Michael Thomas dismissed us from the meeting.
