What do you do when you aren't in school?

Watch movies, bake, and play sports with my kids, play volleyball and coach basketball

Favorite quote or your philosophy on education?

I enjoy bringing my sports background to the classroom so my favorite quote is by Wayne Gretzky “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” Which means if you don’t try you will never succeed.

Favorite book?

My favorite types of books are murder mysteries but I can’t choose just one favorite I have read over the years.

Something Interesting about you:

I played 4 years of college basketball before starting my teaching career. (2 years at SLCC and 2 years at the U of U) I really like sleeping! Luckily I get to sleep in a lot during the summer. I love amusement parks! They are my happy place, one of the few places I will get up extra early for. Harry Potter world is a bucket list place for me!

Your favorite things:

Dr. Pepper, chocolate, two sisters soap (a new company that I found that does soaps, scrubs, lotions, etc.) bath and body works soap, gift cards

What is your favorite Leader In Me habit and why?

Be proactive, I feel like this habit can always bring us back to thoughts about “me.” Are my choices making a positive influence for me and others around me? You are in charge of you!
