We are looking forward to meeting with parents and students during parent teacher conferences. We will be holding these Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 1:30-7:30 pm and Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 1:30-6:30 pm. The teachers enjoy being able to meet with you and to celebrate your children’s accomplishments this school year. It is a great time to set new goals and to resolve to finish the school year out strong. You will again be able to sign up for a Parent-Teacher Conference time on the portal, which works best for you and your family. While you are on the portal, take the opportunity to check your child’s attendance and lunch account balances. Thanks for those of you who are checking it on a regular bases.
We are also looking forward to our school Book Fair; it will be the week of February 26 – March 2, 2018. It will be in our school library. During this week, we will be holding our Literacy Night on Monday, February 26, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 pm. Be watching for more information to be coming home soon about both of these events.
I want to thank our amazing teachers for the countless hours they spend giving each child an individualized education! Because of these fine professional educators, our students are receiving the most balanced education where they are teaching the whole child. We are really focusing on relationships and leadership skills.
We continue to have great things taking place at Roosevelt. Our choir performances in December were amazing. We are now starting our school play. Thanks Mrs. Parkinson for overseeing the success of both these. We want to do a huge shout out to our eight students, Mrs. Reyns and Miss Clark who participated in Robotics Club the past few months. We competed at Kanesville Elementary on Saturday, January 20, 2018. We will continue with this program next year in hopes of it growing. We appreciate the parents who gave up a Saturday to join us and cheer your children on. Every month we have been awarding students who improve academically as well as socially. For the month of February, we are focusing on being, Open, Honest, and Fair and improving our overall academics. Way to go to all of our students who have received these awards so far this year.
We are wishing everyone a wonderful Valentine’s Day, the holiday of love! There will be no school on Friday, February 16th or Monday, February 19th. Enjoy some quality time with your wonderful students.
The Kindergarten 2018-2019 registration will be held on Wednesday, March 14th from 2:00-5:00 pm. Please contact the school at 801-452-4580 with any questions about this procedure. We look forward to our new students joining us in August 2018 and want to make sure we have all needed documentation in place for this to be a smooth transition for you and your family. There is also information available at the school about our pre-school classes.
