3rd grade and 1st grade. I have always been at Roosevelt

ELL Endorsement. I will receive my Masters Degree in November 2020

 

Who/What inspired you to go into education?

I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher. I never considered any other possibilities. I specifically wanted to teach first grade because l loved my first grade teacher. Her name was Mrs. Hudson. I thought she was fantastic. I have a passion for reading. I believe that reading gives you the ability to accomplish your dreams. I take pride in working with children and giving them tools to become readers.

 

What do you do when you aren't in school?

When I am not working, my favorite thing to do is be with my son. He is a fourth grader at Roosevelt. We like to cook, work hard, play games, watch movies and go on bike rides. We have played UNO almost everyday for the past five years. He beats me most of the time.

Favorite book?

To Kill A Mockingbird and Jane Eyre

 

Something Interesting about you:

I do not have any interesting facts to share. I would like parents to know that I am a hard worker. I am dependable. I treat children with respect. I come to work each day with the belief that my class will accomplish much, have fun, and make growth.

 

Your favorite things:

I love Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Coca Cola and McDonald's French Fries. I keep the letters and cards that parents and students write to me. Written words mean a lot to me.

 

What is your favorite Leader In Me habit and why?

Begin With The End In Mind is my favorite leadership habit. I like to have a plan to accomplish my goals. This helps me be more effective and productive. I use this habit at work and at home.
