🧡🍁 Happy Thanksgiving from Our School Family! 🍁🧡

As we head into the holiday break, we want to share how grateful we are for our wonderful students, families, teachers, and staff. Each day is brighter because of the kindness, curiosity, and community spirit you bring to our school.

This week, our classrooms were filled with gratitude activities, creative crafts, and conversations about the people and moments that make us thankful. It’s always inspiring to see our students reflect on appreciation, friendship, and giving back.

We hope you enjoy a warm and relaxing holiday surrounded by loved ones.

🌱 First Grade Scientists at Work! 🌱

Our first graders had an amazing hands-on learning experience this week as they partnered with Red Butte Garden for a special seed/fruit experiment! Students observed different types of seeds, made predictions, learned what plants need to grow, and experimented with how different seeds/fruits travel.

From curious questions to excited discoveries, our young scientists showed wonderful enthusiasm. We’re so proud of their hard work and can’t wait to see what sprouts next! 🌿✨

Thank you to Red Butte Garden for bringing this engaging learning opportunity to our students!

🇺🇸💙 Veterans Day at Roosevelt 💙🇺🇸
Today, our halls were filled with kindness, gratitude, and a whole lot of creativity! Our students spent the week making heartfelt cards to honor the brave veterans in our community — and we couldn’t be more proud of their compassion and effort. 💌✨

Watching our students thoughtfully choose their words, colors, and drawings reminded us how important it is to teach gratitude and service from a young age. Their messages were sincere, sweet, and sometimes beautifully silly — exactly what you’d expect from our amazing kids. ❤️

To all veterans: thank you for your courage, your service, and the sacrifices you’ve made. Our students hope these cards bring a smile to your day. 🙏🇺🇸

Mrs. Worton's first-grade class celebrated Unity Day. They wrote notes to family members letting them know how much they are appreciated and loved. Some students told their siblings how important they are and even wrote heartfelt apologies.

The students created a gratitude banner recognizing what they are thankful for. The list included moms, dads, siblings, teachers, pets, pizza, lagoon, etc. This is such a kind, caring classroom full of students who love to help one another. Every day, Mrs. Worton is impressed with the compassion and eagerness to cheer each other on that her students show.
