Yesterday was an extra special day for our students at Roosevelt Elementary! Thanks to the incredible generosity and partnership of the Intermountain Health Education Innovation Fund, we hosted an unforgettable author book drop!

Local favorite authors Jennifer A. Nielsen and Thal Dixon visited both campuses to inspire our young readers and future writers.

Author Jennifer A. Nielsen took our upper elementary students on an exciting journey through the creative writing process—showing them how big ideas turn into epic adventures. To cap off an amazing session, every student went home with their very own copy of her novel, Elliot and the Goblin War!

Author Thal Dixon gave our younger students an interactive peek behind the scenes to show them how a book is made—from initial ideas and illustrations to the final printed page! Every student walked away with a copy of The P Book!

We love seeing our students' faces light up with the gift of reading. A massive thank you to Jennifer and Thal for bringing so much energy and inspiration to Roosevelt Elementary!

Last week, Representative Katy Hall spent the day experiencing what makes Weber School District so special! She visited South Ogden Junior High and Roosevelt Elementary as part of Utah's Legislator in the Classroom initiative.

At Roosevelt Elementary, student ambassadors took her on a guided tour, highlighting their favorite school initiatives and engaging in an energetic Q&A session.

Giving our students direct access to state leaders is just one of the ways we build real-world learning opportunities right here in our neighborhood schools. That is the #WSDAdvantage!

✨ Fourth grade has been AWESOME in Mrs. Ryan’s Class! ✨
We’ve had so many opportunities to learn, grow, play outside, celebrate our successes, and earn fun classroom privileges. 💙 We’ve also loved having our student teacher, Mrs. Walker, join us and be part of our classroom team!
Our students are working hard, making memories, and becoming an amazing team. It has been an incredible start to the school year, and I’m so excited for all that’s ahead! 📚✏️🌟

Welcome to Roosevelt Elementary, where our brand new kindergartners kicked off a super fun adventure. To get to know their new school, our littlest learners set off on a scavenger hunt to track Pete the Cat. As they tiptoed down the hall, they met our Principals, the librarian, and all our important people who keep our school running. Pete was tricky to spot, but our first days were filled with smiles, friendships, and excitement. Get ready, kindergartners, because your journey is off to a rocking’ start.
