We have a brand-new school, and it is really nice. Each grade has its own hall that includes a bathroom and four classrooms. Fourth, fifth, and sixth grades are all on the second floor, while preschool, kindergarten, first, second, and third grades, and the office are on the first floor. The construction took about two years to finish. Construction started in 2023 and ended in the summer of 2025. Did you know that Roosevelt has three playgrounds, including a field, basketball hoops, and a black top full of everything a playground needs? It does!
Each grade has a sliding glass door and a normal glass door. A key card is needed to enter any pod. There is a teacher workroom where the teachers go to meet when students go to PLCs. Each pod has a common room, which is just a big room with three or four tables, and has a wooden area in the corner where anyone can go for work or just a break.
Roosevelt Elementary is really nice and big. It helps with a lot of things, and it’s a big upgrade from the old school. Old Roosevelt was really old, like 68 years old, but during the school year of 2023-2024. The 2nd-grade hall was destroyed when construction started, and so was the field. After that year, each grade was put into different schools, including Washington Terrace Elementary, Uintah Elementary, H. Guy Elementary, and Burch Creek Elementary.
Our staff and students are so lucky to have a new school, and we are grateful for it, too!
