Who/What inspired you to go into education?

I had a few teachers who inspired me to become a teacher. They took the time to get to know me and really cared about me. My 6th grade teacher, Mr. Rhees, who still teaches at Lomond View Elementary in Pleasant View is one of those teachers. The other teacher that made an impact on me was my 7th and 8th grade Science teacher, Mrs. Truedelle. I was pretty good at science and I liked it. Mrs. Truedelle was that and would give me extra work to do, that I liked. She was also there for me when my dad was deployed in Afghanistan. She took interest in me and talked with me often about how me and my family were doing. I realized after having those two great teachers that I wanted to be like them and make an impact on my students lives some day!

What do you do when you aren't in school?

This summer I have enjoyed reading lots of good books! I also really enjoy shopping, watching baseball and spending time with family!

Favorite quote or your philosophy on education?

A quote I am striving to live by is by Natasha Babineau. “Care about each student you teach because each child deserves a caring teacher. They will be able to tell by your actions and it will come naturally. The children who are most difficult to love need it the most.”

Favorite book?

Because of Mr. Terupt

Something Interesting about you:

I have moved 13 times and lived in 11 states! My dad is in the Air Force, so growing up we had to move a lot!

Your favorite things:

A few of my favorite things are Cheetos, ice cream, mints, milky ways, lemonade, and pizza.

What is your favorite Leader In Me habit and why?

My favorite habit is habit 2 Begin with the End in Mind. I love to set goals and make plans to reach them. I’m always planning things out. I like to be prepared. Beginning with the End in Mind is just that! You have to be prepared for what’s ahead.
